Dancing/Chocolate Chip Cookies/2nd Half of 2025
Before I dive into this week’s slightly different offering to you all, I must acknowledge the sad and scary unfolding that occurred in our beautiful, bubble-of-a-town, Boulder (my home for 25 years), this past weekend. While I was not there or involved in the organization that was targeted, to me, it is a moment of waking up to next level brokenness of humanity.
I keep hearing Bob Marley’s famous song and lyric… “So much trouble in the world…” We are living in times that are rattling so many to the core. Staying awake, connected to our bodies, hearts, and ourselves, finding the people that we can rest into, lean into, BE our true selves with, and create opportunities for pleasure, purpose, levity, nourishment, movement, and authentic connection…. all are essential and vital in these times.
All that to say, I have a few pieces to share with you today, some may be resonant for you, others not…yet, truly, my intention in showing up in your inbox week after week is to stay connected, to offer my unwavering and authentic support, and to, hopefully, remind you that you are not alone.
DANCE! This week (tomorrow night!) we begin our Dancing in Community at our new home, Una Vida Meditation and Movement Studio.
Benefits of this bi-monthly practice:
· Space for safe, welcoming, heart-full community connection. We have the opportunity to remember that we are not alone.
· We move our energy with intention and reverence. We get out of the analysis of why things are the way they are and drop down into ourselves…in our bodies…with respect, love, and compassion. Out of the head, into the body!
· An outlet for our creative process. After we dance/move the energy, we have the opportunity to capture whatever has come through on paper through writing/drawing.
· Body-confidence and acceptance: There are no steps to follow or expectations of how one moves their body. This provides the opportunity for a depth of connection to our bodies in a way that is accepting and builds confidence from within. We are guided by our own inner impulses, needs, and movement patterns…all deeply healing especially for women who feel disconnected to themselves and their bodies.
· I cannot leave out that we also can get an amazing workout!! Dance is SO good for our bodies, our minds, our hearts, our souls, and our spirits. Getting our heart rate up in this fun, playful, fluid, and creative way we can forget that we are actually getting some wonderful exercise!
1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 6:15pm – 7:45pm. ALL ARE WELCOMED! Pre-registration is requested.
The BEST Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies (obsessed with them!)
For something fun, I thought I would start sharing some of my favorite recipes as creating in the kitchen is a wonderful outlet. I really LOVE baking and, in particular, playing around with healthy recipes. I am all about enjoying comfort food as it is nourishing for the soul. We have been baking these in our house by the double batch and I *may* (on occasion) enjoy 1 or 2 for breakfast!
HERE is the recipe in full. Note: DO NOT bake for the entire length of time that she suggests. I would do for ( ) minutes and then let them sit. They may seem undercooked but I promise they will be much better on the chewier end, rather than hard and crunchy.
½ Way Point of 2025:
I can hardly believe it, but here we are! It is a wonderful time to self-reflect and be intentional about the 2ndhalf of this year. To me, every month has been so dense…lots of learning and growing and releasing and healing.
No matter what has transpired for you, here is an invitation to reside in a space of trust around the unfolding…and, to move forward extracting all that you learned about yourself, your relationships, your work, your place in this wild world…and take aligned steps forward.
Writing is such a powerful tool to dive into self-reflection.
Below are some questions for you and your own inquiry process in stepping into this 2nd half of 2025…. awake, intentional, open, and connected.
1. What were the main lessons/teachings/learning that you experienced in the first half of 2025? Be as specific as you can.
2. Where are you right now? In yourself? In your relationships? In your work? In your place in the world? Take an honest inventory.
3. What are the top 3 areas that you feel need some care/work/love/presence?
4. What are your goals/visions/intentions for the 2nd half of the year?
5. What action steps do you need to take to move forward in alignment?
6. What level of support do you need to bring in to keep you accountable, connected, and in alignment?
As always, I am out here for support and/or connection! Reach out anytime.
Take good care of yourselves and be kind to each other.
