From my broken heart to yours…

“Let your heart break so your spirit doesn’t”. ~Andrea Gibson

I keep reading and re-reading this quote by the late and truly amazing poet, Andrea Gibson. Each time feeling its resonance in a new way in my being. That permission slip to feel. To allow my heart to feel the magnitude of how shattered I feel about the unfolding of this country.

The exhaustion that is palpable. Often a mild, underlying hopelessness and even a twinge of depression. Certainly grief. And yet the unwavering resonance of trust that I continuously return to in midst of my commitment to not allow the utter insanity of the world suck the life out of my soul or dim my spirit.

Is it easy every day to keep the flame burning? Absolutely not.

Yet, I am choosing to make it my practice….to remember how crucial it is to feel it all to heal. That the heartbreak cannot be bypassed. It is an essential component of embodied and sustainable healing. And what I believe is a critical piece of the puzzle of becoming whole in our upright, aligned, and truthful selves.

I just wanted to pop into your inboxes for a moment…to normalize the heartbreak…to be in connection…to, perhaps, remind even one person that they are not alone…and to remind us all to feel what we need to feel but do not allow this excruciating unfolding to suck your soul and dim your spirit.

I am always out here for support and connection. Reach out anytime.

From my broken heart to yours,

Alison
